The niagara falls building is interesting – apparently it has a little sculpted owl outside. That same owl motif I saw as a beautiful art deco fountain along the walkway over the falls, on the Canadian side.
Cmon you scientist types you can do better than that!!!! 😉
Thanks for sharing the article Ben – I’d like to see a solution that is a little less invasive to the environment though. Why can’t the power requirements be part of the device that needs the power? Everything that “needs” energy should be able to provide its own, and then some. It should probably “give” more than “take”. So all that infrastructure (dams, turbines, power lines) is probably not necessary… it’s just a symptom of a limited design.
I’m not sure about solar since to me it sits in the other category of power generation (and passive heating and cooling) that can be part of a building’s design. It’s not that efficient in its current form, unfortunately.
I am glad they are thinking along “green” lines though!
I’m not sure we’re talking about final solutions here. But it’s just good to be hearing about some good news amid so much negativity. 🙂 Some days it seems the whole world is full of madmen. (And most of them ARE men too. 😉

Not sure how we went from fossil fuels to LGBA but I guess it’s all connected somehow right? LOL
